IPNP welcomes Dr Heike Rebholz as a new junior team leader

Dr Heike Rebholz, PhD in Biochemistry at University College London, has been appointed as the new junior team leader at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neuroscience (IPNP), with effect from September 15th 2019.

Dr. Heike Rebholz’s recruitment was recommended by the International Scientific Advisory Board (iSAB) further to an international call for recruitment as a junior team leader at the IPNP.

Heike is joining IPNP thanks to a position opened by the GHU Paris Psychiatrie Neurosciences. IPNP is very grateful for this opportunity offered by the GHU.

Prior to joining the IPNP, Heike worked at Rockefeller University and CUNY Medical School where she serves as a research associate for eight years. She was later appointed as independent research associate at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy. 

She has strong experience in Neuroscience and Biochemistry with keen interest in the mechanisms involved in dopaminergic and serotonergic signaling in the brain, one of which being the regulation by kinases such as CK2.

She is working with rodent preclinical models and is focusing on Parkinson's disease, as was well as major depressive disorder.
